Avast Software - Poor customer service.

I renewed two of my Avast products using an email offer, under the promise (in writing) that the original expiry date would be honoured. This hasn't happened - after a month of going back and forth, they still haven't done anything about it, and I still have the expiry date of the day I renewed, rather than the original. Meaning I've effective lost 43 days of protection. I'm sick and tired of this, and have given up. Come my renewal date next year I will be cancelling all my Avast products - not doing it now because if it takes them this long to sort something so simple, only God knows how long it will take them to refund any money!

No way to cancel subscription because the online way they provide DOES NOT WORK!!!!! EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I had to block the transaction through my bank. I will NEVER get ANYTHING from avast again.

DigitalRiver, AVC also made an unauthorized charge on my PayPal account. This is the 2nd time AVG has tried to charge me for services I did not order or receive.

The first charge was for $69.99 in February. I was issued a refund for it. Today I received another charge for $79.99 from DigitalRiver,AVG. I reported it to PayPal, my bank and Life Lock.

PayPal and Life Lock are investigating.

My bank put a deny payment on my account for it, when it comes in for processing. I only hope someone or the FTC puts a stop to this scam.

Avast Software - Open violation of consumer protection act

after paying for a year license and the amount of pop ups from this *** anti virus they have the nerve to upcharge me 10$ if i want there newest anti viris engine yet ive paid for it already, this is a *** company that is not giving there customers what they pay for and false advertising stay away from avast or anything this company touches ! Avast Software - My 10+ year experience paying for Avast.

I found if you look around on the site you can get a much better price of you own several computers. If you still want to buy it after reading this. Not fair to hide it like this. Otherwise they charge you 79-99 bucks per PC per year. You can get 5PC's for 3 years for $99 last time I bought it. I have used the free version and it is good enough for most uses. They are more concerned with the numbers of installed apps over whether your system will still do what you need it too. Get Spybot. Until about a little over a year ago it's been a fairly good product. They now keep bothering you with adverts and offers even though you bought it already. Which is irritating. They treat you like scammers would trying to trick you into buying products you already bought or other useless apps. They act more like scammers than legitimate antivirus you should trust. they have lost all respect and credibility I had in them. Their product line is confusing Premium or half a dozen other names they call their antivirus. Do they do the same things? Probably. Is it up selling tactic? Most definitely. Their password manager they purchased a scammers business called Gator that was filled with spyware and not at all encrypted. It's still the same garbage. Last pass I've used for 4 years and is fantastic and secure. They had a *** and alerted all customers to change their passwords the same day. which re encrypted their accounts under a different key. So if the hackers did manage to get anything it was useless information. Avast doesn't care about hearing any of the problems that make their product look act and smell like a scam. Or anything their products do to prevent you from getting stuff done. They do not care. I have written them politely with the full list of the problem. Many more than I can list here. Not once have they acknowledged my letters even with a stock response. They sure like to fill up my email account with pointless contact info every *** day. Contributing to the pointless thing email has become. After over 10 years I will not be buying or using avast and I recommend you stay away from it as well. At least until they start listening to the people that paid for it for a long time and stop acting like scammers. The final straw is when they made changes that suck up so much resources that you can't play a video locally or off a disk without audio hitches and long pauses waiting for Avast to let me use the system I paid for. To remove Avast you have to get the special uninstall tool from avast. The only other way is to format and start again. All that needs to be done is for the people at Avast to listen and stop acting like jerks.
